If you have a paysite or something similar (perhaps an escort site with a members area) then you must be thinking, "how can I retain my members and/or keep them coming back?"
The simple answer to this is to give them content, and lots of it. A paysite member expects this of course and you must ensure that you have enough photo/video updates to keep going. It's always best to have your shoots or content bought for up to 3-6 months at least so that you don't let them down. You members will leave if they're not getting any updates; it's as simple as that. However, don't think that just because you're providing fresh adult content every week that your members still won't leave. It has to be good content too. If you're shooting your own stuff make sure that you don't shoot it all in the same location for example; people will get bored with this, particularly if it's a solo girl site. You must keep things interesting. Try out new locations, different niches, outfits and guest stars etc. The fresher you keep the content the more likely you are to retain your members.
Be a porn fan
You must be at least a little into porn to be in the industry, but it's easy to begin seeing it as a business and stop seeing what originally turned you onto it. Get yourself out there looking at other paysites and you'll soon begin to see what they're doing that makes them different and more successful than you. Competition is healthy and it keeps the internet porn industry on its toes, working hard to provide the next best thing.
Tell your members what you're doing!
If you're going to make an effort to keep your updates coming thick and fast, and you're making sure that they are original shoots with a lot of different action etc, then make sure your members know about it. Consider having a blog to go alongside your site(s). You'll find that your members will subscribe and keep their eyes on the blog for news, reviews etc. A true porn fan will be constantly looking for the next best thing and wanting their memberships to be providing quality ALL THE TIME. If you haven't got the time to write them then pay someone like me to do it for you. Remember that it's not just about giving your members news, it's also about keyword content and relevance on Google; the more of that you throw into the engine, the more chance you have of getting a good page rank (of course this depends also on the frequency and length of your blog posts etc)
The newsletter
The newsletter isn't used half as much as it should be. With a newsletter you have the opportunity to mail out to your members to let them know exactly what you've been doing. You must make sure that your members have agreed to receive the newsletter however. Don't make your newsletters boring however. It's one thing to tell your members what's coming up on the site, but you can make this a whole lot more interesting if you send some exclusive newsletter pictures, or perhaps a special offer etc. Or what about a dirty story? I've done this for several webmasters and escort sites; it's a good way of getting people horny and you'd be surprised at how many people like to read a dirty story; particularly if it pertains to your website or niche.
